#003: announcements, celebrations and the in-betweens
Aries szn, so you know what โ turn the music up, letโs dance and celebrate. ๐
I turned a year older on April 9th, and Iโm still surprised by how many people share this day with me โ including my cousin, who just turned 9 (and yes, I still havenโt gotten her a gift. Soon, little one. Soon.)
April marks the end of my Q4, and I took myself out on a solo date to reflect on life so far โ and honestly? I was wowed. I love my little life. I love everything about it โ even the tough times. But mostly, I love the friends whoโve walked with me as I grow older. I didnโt win the lottery when it comes to family, but when it comes to friendship? I definitely did.
Right now, Iโm on a trip โ in the land of many hills โ sipping on chai and celebrating Easter. And writing about AI and the in-betweens. Could life get any better?
Whatโs been up? Iโve generally slowed down, especially since Iโm on vacation. I went to the office a few days โ just to host a Kahoot! โ and now Iโm catching up on announcements while prepping my next set of talks and blog posts.
Oh, and yes โ Iโm back creating content! Iโve started a new YouTube series, posted a new TikTok, and Iโm working on my content calendar for the next quarter.
Iโm back, baby!!
AI: are we still catching up with the announcements?
Okay, I was actually building my first agent, when the announcements started rolling in. First: what is an MCP server? Anyone? Because Iโm still fumbling. Then came the Ghibli-style images.
And just when I decided to take a break, bam! โ A2A and new models launched, left, right, and center. It might be my imposter syndrome talking, but catching up while on vacation? Not looking good, bruv. Anyway, hereโs the round-up:
Weโve launched a new series on Agents โ come build with us! Iโve got a talk on the 6th of May โ save the date!
We wrapped up the Data + AI Hack. Kenya to the world, my guys! ๐ The closing ceremony is on the morning of April 25th. Canโt wait! (P.S. I wasnโt one of the judges, but the feedback? Chefโs kiss.)
I have a talk on Agents + Prompty. Am I prepared? Not really. But you can catch me rambling through it here โ it's live today!
Microsoft Build is coming up โ and weโre updating the lab. If you're attending in person, thereโs something special for you. One day, I hope to travel and facilitate it in person. For now, Iโm glad to be behind the scenes shaping this masterpiece.
Iโve been catching up on the MCP hype โ hereโs what Iโm reading:
And yesโฆ did we break a Guinness World Record? I hope so โ we hosted a global, multilingual GitHub Copilot Agent Mode session (the English version), and it was massive.
The In-Betweens
I picked up live drawing (or something like that). Iโve been sketching everywhere โ and I like it.
Hereโs whatโs up:
Hobby: Not confident enough to share my just yet, but hereโs a little Easter-inspired series I did ๐ฃ
Podcast: Still hooked on Financially Incorrect. The episode with Carol Musyoka? 10/10.
Show: Abbott Elementary! Avaโs redemption arc was satisfying โ but the season ended ๐ข. Might rewatch. Also bingeing Brooklyn 99 โ if you havenโt watched it, this is your assignment.
Fiction: The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center. It has me convinced I could write a rom-com one day. Iโm here for it.
Non-fiction: Still unfinished, but working on it:
The Art of Danish Living by Meik Wiking
You Are a Badss at Making Money* by Jen Sincero
Experiences:
Took a spontaneous trip to Rwanda โ because, why not?
Iโve been acing solo and girlfriend dates โ from Tea-goni (ifykyk) to The View (ngl, I almost fumbled).
Okay, let me finish exploring Rwanda then come back and complete my review. ๐
Thatโs it for the in-betweens. ๐ซ
Beauty in the Mundane
My theme for the year is Beauty.
And one thing Iโve appreciated this month? Finding Joy.
Have you drank tea while itโs raining cats and dogs? try it!
