#001: Learning, AI, and the in-betweens
Learning
For a year and a lot more, I have been at the center of Artificial Intelligence. It has been a journey of learning and unlearning. Embracing new knowledge and letting go.
As much as I have learned about the evolution, I have learned a lot more about myself, and what growing pains truly means. I slowly and painfully embraced that change is the only true constant.
Last year, I was ambitious, with many intentions, ideas, none of which came to pass. In January, as the year began, I got an epiphany. A blog that I cherish today and probably will to eternity—"What if perfection is in completion?"
Slowly, I have embraced the notion, grown and developed. “How?” you ask. Well, I have 7 blog posts up from my empty online garden, completed and shared a couple of Procreate paintings I have been working on and now, finally, after a whole year, I am finally getting my first newsletter out! 🥂
AI: My Definition of Agents
When I started learning how to cook, it was through observation and asking a ton of questions (knowledge). Looking at my mom & grandma cook and learning the tradition. Slowly as I picked up the craft, I got the ingredients (tools) and cooked (action) my very first meal. This is Agency. Having control of a process that leads to an end goal. The ability to reference prior data to adjust and tweak, and to make decisions autonomously.
This week, I have been learning all about Agents, here is some resources I can share to get you started:
Hugging Face has launched a new course on AI Agents.
Microsoft's Valentine gift to developers was an end-to-end AI Agents Curriculum.
My teammate made a neat LinkedIn summary on Agents.
And—I built my first agent as well by following this end-to-end hands-on tutorial.
Should we dive deeper into agents? Be on the lookout—I'm building something amazing! Hope to disclose in the next newsletter.
The In-Betweens
I am currently reading on Habits. I picked the book The Power of Habit by Charles Duhig, my biggest lesson so far: small changes == big impact.
I have been painting regularly for about a week now, 👉 @artsychu
Two new productivity tools I’ve picked up are Todoist and Pomofocus. I love when you can just use one app for one purpose and easily integrate the two. It has come in handy to help me in decluttering my to-do lists.
I have an event, a hackathon and an IWD series coming up in March—watch this space 💫
Beauty in the Mundane
My theme for the year is Beauty. So here is some one thing have appreciated this month: Sunsets and evening walks.
Thanks for reading,
